Getting the BLUES at THE ASTOR

Friday January 10th 2014 saw Kewley back at The Astor Theatre in St Kilda for a screening of the classic 1980 John Landis movie THE BLUES BROTHERS.

Astor - Blues Brothers - Jan 2014-1

In front of a packed house – on a hot night – Kewley (as ‘Jake Blues‘) was again joined on stage by young Ned Napier (this time as ‘Elwood Blues‘) to introduce the film and ‘warm up’ the audience with a comedy routine which included lots of interesting facts and trivia about the cult classic.

The 35mm print of THE BLUES BROTHERS that was projected on the huge Astor screen is the SAME print (and only remaining print of the film in Australia) that has screening in Melbourne for the last 25 years! John Landis has stated that THE BLUES BROTHERS has done more business in Australia over the years than almost any other country in the world!
